In Dec 2011, our family headed to Dubai for a 7 Night cruise on the Royal Caribbean Brilliance of the Seas. We arrived the day before and stayed at a serviced apartment. Here are some pictures, pre-cruise, of Dubai.
We flew to Dubai on Singapore Airlines. It was a day flight. This was the menu.
Light snack before landing. The flight was 7 hours plus.
I ordered the child's meal for our kids. It was decent.
My kids enjoying her food.
This was my main meal.
This was the refreshment before landing, for the kids. I think the kids had better food before landing compared to the adults!
This is a 4 minute video of our landing into Dubai International. Fascinating because you can clearly see that Dubai was built on sand!
Some picture of Dubai when we were walking around.
Many tall buildings.
The Hilton Dubai.
Plenty of sand.
More buildings.
It was rather cold, hence nobody was swimming.
Warning signs.
Sand, and more sand.
Beware of RIP currents.
A view from the service apartment.
Emirates Post - Mail box.
Here are some views of the Dubai skyline as the cruise ship arrived on the last day morning.
Many tall buildings.
It almost looks unreal.
Almost unreal.
You can see the super tall skyscraper.
