Malaysian Airlines MH 370 - Timing of Report by Flight’s Pilot Focuses Inquiry

The search for MH 370 continues.

From the New York Times - Timing of Report by Pilot Focuses Inquiry

Quote:
SEPANG, Malaysia — A signaling system was disabled on the missing Malaysia Airlines jet before a pilot spoke to air traffic control without mentioning any trouble, a senior Malaysian official said Sunday, reinforcing theories that one or both of the pilots may have been involved in diverting the plane and adding urgency to the investigation of their pasts and possible motivations.

Comment
I am assuming that the only way to disable this system is from the cockpit. Is there any other way?

Evidence does point to foul play by the cockpit crew. Malaysian Police have raided his home. Hopefully they find more clues, soon.

Pilot - Supporter of Anwar
Britain's Daily Mail on Sunday, citing police sources, reported that Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah, 53, was an "obsessive" supporter of Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, who was sentenced to five years in prison on a charge of sodomy just hours before the Malaysia Airlines plane took off. The Mail reported that Malaysian authorities fear that Zaharie, who was at Ibrahim's trial, may have been upset enough by Ibrahim's imprisonment to hijack his own aircraft as a form of political protest.

More than 600 possible runways for MH370

With the fuel on board, it had emerged that MH 370 could have landed at more than 600 runways - http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2014/03/15/290418335/did-the-malaysian-airliner-land-here-are-possible-runways?ft=1&f=1001

This article summarizes what we know and what we don't know about MH 370. See the link - http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/malaysia/article/after-a-week-and-some-clues-the-knowns-and-unknowns-of-mh370

Just earlier today, the Malaysian PM has just released findings that plane may have been hijacked!

Sounds like an incredibly sophisticated operations!! My guess is that the pilot or co-pilot or both were involved in the hijack. No way a hijacker could have gained access to the cockpit without the pilots raising the alarm!

Hard to believe that the pilot was not involved in this.

I think it is quite certain now that the plane did not crash. Pray for the safety of the innocent passengers and crew!
