Park Cafe Pictures - Legend of the Seas Royal Caribbean (March 2013)

Park Cafe - Legend of the Seas

These are pictures from the Park Cafe from our Legend of the Seas sailing in March 2013, Borneo cruise out of Singapore.  The Legend had just completed a US$50Mil revitalization dry-dock in Singapore.  The dry-dock lasted a month.

The Legend of the Seas had been sailing in Asia for many years now. In mid 2013, the Legend of the Seas was sent back to Europe and then the Caribbean.  Not sure when the Legend would come to Asia again but we had the wonderful opportunity of cruising on the Legend twice, once before and once after the revitalization. Needless to say, we like the revitalized Legend much better!

This is the Park Cafe menu.  The Park Cafe was a wonderful addition to the Legend.  The cafe is located behind the Solarium.  The Park Cafe is complimentary!

Ready made salad bowls and other bowls of food.

Salads, which would be tossed for you, fresh.

Sandwiches.  They could heat these up for you too.

That was a salad I enjoyed.  They had mats that looked like grass.  After all, this was the Park Cafe!

Some roast beef sandwich.

Those flowers weren't real, but they looked nice.

The menu, again!

Park Cafe.  The area closer to the camera was the food area.  There is small bar at the far end.

A view of the indoor pool from the Park Cafe.

Deck chairs, no crowds!

That's the Park Cafe at the far end of this picture.  On the right, entrance to the Vitality Spa.  On the left, the complimentary drinks area, as well as entrance to the ship's gym.

Spa/Jacuzzi.

Another angle of the Park Cafe.  On the left, the small bar set-up selling drinks.

Being in Asia, the daily specials were Asian-themed.  Today, it was the Malaysian Mango!

A closer look at the ready-made bowls.  The Fruit cups were very good.  They even had Asian Shrimp Noodle salad.

Slow roast NY Striploin.
慢烤纽约西冷牛扒.

Being in Asia, they tried to prepare Asian soups instead of the usual Western fare.  Today, it was Cantonese Beef Broth. What's Cantonese?  Check out Cantonese on Wiki if interested.
船上提供广东牛肉汤!

These were breakfast items.  E.g. Burrito with scrambled eggs, English muffins with over medium eggs.  All very delicious!

Other breakfast read-to-eat items.  The Yogurts parfaits were awesome!

The sun was shining on the English muffins.

This is the complimentary drinks area.  All the usual stuff available (coffee, tea etc)

A warm day.

Assorted Danish and pastries, also available during breakfast.

Create your own Bagel!

Condiments for the bagel, including smoked salmon.

Lettuce, onions, tomatos, salad.

Bagel fillings.

Different types of bagels.

The Park Cafe was a wonderful addition to the Legend of the Seas.

Enjoy!

Diamond Club Lounge - Royal Caribbean Legend of the Seas

Diamond Club - another great addition to the revitalized Legend of the Seas.  This is a private lounge for Crown and Anchor, Diamond and above members.  There is also a Concierge Lounge, for suite guests and for Crown and Anchor Diamond Plus and above members.

Inside the Diamond Club lounge in the morning, during breakfast hours.  On this sailing, the Diamond Concierge said that there were fewer than 50 Diamonds on board.  The lounge was usually very quiet.

We loved the coffee machine in the Diamond Lounge.

Juices in the morning.

Breakfast selection.  Hot food was not available.   However, the Diamond Club is located fairly near the Park Cafe.  On more than a few occasions, we grabbed food from the Park Cafe and brought it into the Club to eat.

A nice view of the lounge which was very quiet on our sailing.

This was the Diamond Concierge Desk.  The Diamond Concierge was Andrew Finegold.  He was a very helpful chap.

Another view.

Breakfast offerings, all cold stuff.

Breads at breakfast. There was also a toaster.

Diamond Club - hot food selection during evening hours.  The finger food was good!

Checking out the food.  The chicken wings were great.

Evening hours, cocktail selection.  The bartender would be able to mix any drink you wanted from this set of drinks. They had three types of beers to choose from, including Miller Lite, Heineken and one more that I can't remember.

They had a house red, house white and champagne.

Hot food selection.

Bartender at work.

I had a Miller Lite almost every day.

I found that the beer went very well with the hot finger food.

This was a mixed drink, Cranberry Vodka.

I think this was a Bourbon Coke.

This was taken during the afternoon, after breakfast hours but before evening cocktails.  Notice no food in the warmers.

Back to our favorite coffee machine!  Awesome stuff.

Another look.  They had takeaway cups, very useful to pop in, get a drink, and move on.

Overall, our Legend of the Seas March cruise was greatly enhanced by the Diamond Club access, thanks to our newly minted Crown and Anchor Diamond status.  It also helped that the lounge was very quiet, as there were very few Diamonds on board this Asian sailing.
