Yap Kee WanTon Mee - Holland village market and food centre

Yap Kee Wanton Mee, Holland Village Food Centre (Singapore).

I hadn't been to this food centre in a while.  The place looks recently renovated.  Bright and airy.  We had to park opposite, in the multi-storey car park. The carparks adjoining the food market were completely full on a Saturday morning.

This Wanton mee had been featured on iEat.ishoot.ipost.  Detailed description.

Green chillies.

Prices.  The sign on the left asserts that this is one of the top 10 Wanton mee in Singapore, according to some food ranking.

This was the serving.  It doesn't look big, but it is enough for a meal like breakfast.

A closer look.

Verdict?
Not bad.  The taste is fairly unique, where wanton mee is concerned.   The difference lies with the noodles.  There is this "al dente" effect, with the texture of the noodles being rather firm and chewy.  I think it has something to do with the quality of the noodles and how it was cooked.

Worth a try if you are in the vicinity.  It may, or may not, be your cup of tea.

happy reading!
