Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok

Courtyard by Marriott, Bangkok
This Bangkok property has many very positive reviews on Tripadvisor. It is situated in a good location, within easy walking distance to Central World. We got a good rate (Internet booking, 6 months before) and decided to stay here for 3 nights in March 2014.

From the Mezzanine floor, the front desk. A relatively simple yet elegant lobby. Nothing very grand, but neat, like a good business hotel.

Lobby area. The hotel looked rather empty, probably due to the recent political unrest in Bangkok.

The Mezzanine floor, here are the conference rooms, as well as access to the gym and pool area.

Complimentary coffee available at the M floor.

Some sandwiches and salads for sale. The hotel's cafe (called Momo cafe) was closed for renovation. So they converted one of the convention meeting rooms into a temporary cafe. We had breakfast there every morning.

A closer look at the cold sandwiches, I didn't find them appetizing, but at least there is food, if you need some.

Erawan refers to the convention/meeting rooms. Fitness centre on the left.

Some pictures of the gym. A good size. There was nobody at 4pm on a Saturday.

Four threadmills.

Free weights.

Lots of space in the gym.

Complimentary water in the gym.

8th floor walkway to the rooms.

We got a room with two double beds, as there were four of us. We found that many hotels in Bangkok did not allow four in a room, so our choices were limited.

The room wasn't very big, but acceptable in size. This was the two double beds.

Sink in the toilet.

Breakfast
A meeting room in the convention centre was converted into the temporary Momo cafe. Breakfast was very quiet the 3 day we were there. I think the hotel occupancy was very low.
Fruits.
Fresh fruits and cold cuts.
Thai food, we didn't try.
Cheese board.
Pastries and Danishes and cup-cakes. Kids lived the chocolate cupboard. Lots of jams, and also Nutella.
Breads and rolls.
Egg station. Always a favorite. It was helpful that breakfast wasn't crowded at all. So we got our eggs quickly.
They had some asian-style porridge that changed daily.

Of course, there was the usual selection of breakfast foods like bacon, sausages, potatoes as well as asian offerings like fried rice, chicken with cashew nuts and the like. Overall, a more than adequate breakfast.
This is the photo of some special offers from Cafe Momo menu. Other than breakfast, we didn't eat at Cafe Momo.

Conclusion
It was a very pleasant stay. For the price we paid, it was a good deal and I would recommend this hotel to any tourist visiting Bangkok. The proximity to Central World was very useful for us.

Safe Travels!
