Celebrity Silhouette Elite Social Cocktail Hour and Elite Morning Coffee

Celebrity Silhouette
Although this was our first cruise on Celebrity, we enjoyed reciprocal benefits as Crown & Anchor Diamond members and were recognized as Elite members on board.  The word 'Elite' was printed on our sea-pass cards.

Our children were also C&A Diamond members in their own right, however as they were under 18, there was no recognition.  I asked the Captain's Club hostess on board what the policy was and she explained to me that Celebrity's loyalty programme did not apply to children under 18.  So be it.

These vouchers were waiting for us in the cabin. We found the laundry vouchers (Complimentary Wash, Dry, Fold up to 30 items) most useful.

So was this letter.  Eventually, it turned out that we did not attend the wine-tasting.  Neither did we attend the Elite tea.  I planned to go for the wine tasting which was held on a sea day, however, it clashed with the Family Scavenger (organized by Fun Factory) hunt held at the same time.  It was more important to spend time with the kids!

The Elite Elegant Tea was held on a port day.  By the time we got back that day, I recall it was too late.  I did ask the Captain's Club hostess why the Elegant Tea was held on a port day.  The answer I got was that there were too few sea days this cruise and she had difficulties slotting in all the events.  Oh well, there is always the next time.

This was Day 2 I recall.  We came back from dinner and found this lovely rose in our cabin.  Nice touch.  My wife loved it!

Evening Social Hour
The evening social hour (5pm to 7pm every evening) was held in the Sky Lounge.  Vouchers were not used for this cruise.  We attended the social event almost every day from 5pm to about 5:40pm, then we left for dinner (early seating).  The Lounge was 80% to 90% full.

Celebrity does not have a dedicated Concierge Lounge.  Neither does she had a Diamond Lounge.  So I believe Suite guests were also invited to the evening social hour.  We talked to a couple who were sailing with Celebrity for the first time and weren't C&A Diamond.  They were staying in a suite and their attendant (or butler?) reminded them to attend the evening social hour.

Here was the menu of available drinks.  Service was prompt.

There were also canapes.  This evening, I was seated at the bar counter.

This evening, we were not at the bar counter.  At one of the other seats.

This was the evening cocktail hour, on another evening.  This time I brought Darth Vader along.

I had these canapes.

Morning Coffee Break
Held daily from 8am to 10am at the Tuscan Grille.  I noticed that the Captain's Club hostess was there every morning.  This was the drink's menu. (A little bit torn at the edges!)

They set up a small buffet with light breakfast items, including freshly sliced fruits, bread, smoked salmon etc.

There was yogurt and juices.

The view of the breakfast table from the other side.  The selection was the same every day.

For some reason, I did not try these juices, so I am not sure if they were freshly squeezed or not.

I would order a Mimosa and a Cafe Latte.  We had enough food so we did not usually get anything to eat.

On this particular day, I decided to get something to eat.  My wife loved the smoothie.

On this particular morning, both Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader came along.  Hey guys, how's the cruise going?

My mimosa and coffee on another morning.

Tasted good.

This was one of the events, I think the Captain's Club Celebration.  They got two of the four production singers to do some numbers.  They were pretty alright.  The event was well attended.

The end and thank you for reading.

Under the reciprocal arrangements, Celebrity Cruises Elite Members would be recognized as Crown and Anchor Diamonds when sailing on Royal Caribbean.  In recent times, RCI have introduced dedicated Diamond Lounges onboard their ships. We enjoyed this perk tremendously on the Legend of the Seas.

Safe travels!

  1. Pleased to know about this cocktail and morning coffee party. I am searching for excellent Los Angeles event venues for arranging a weekend brunch party with my family. Got to know about some lovely venues and planning to book one of grand one.
